80% of children’s learning is visual

Like going to the dentist, children should have their eyes checked regularly every 6-12 months
It is never too early as they do not need to be able to read or recognize letters. We can test babies from 6 months.
We recommend all children should be tested before going to school.
Problems such as lazy eyes need to be recognised from an early age and treated before becoming permanent.
Children’s eye examinations are funded by the NHS whilst they are under 19 and in full time education. Should spectacles need to be worn, an NHS voucher is issued towards the cost of them.
